38 years ago today!!

Fleetwood Mac's 11th album Rumours, hit #1 on the US album chart on April 2, 1977.

The album made them superstars and their album Rumours has been acknowledged as one of the most important pop music of all time and the best music of the 1970's.

They won the Grammy Award for Album of the year in 1978.  It is also one of the best-selling albums of all time with over 40 million copies sold worldwide.

The band members underwent a turbulent time of stress, conflicts and romantic breakups as they recorded the album.  The passion of the times translated into some of their most celebrated songs.

Tears For Fears . . . 30-year anniversary of "Songs From The Big Chair"

Tears for Fears are an English new wave band, turned mainstream, formed in 1981 by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith.

Their second album, Songs from the Big Chair, reached number one on the US Billboard 200, achieving multi-platinum status in both the UK and the US which included the songs "Head Over Heels," "Shout," and "Everybody Wants To Rule The World."

My personal favorite . . .

Tears for Fears' career changing album, Songs from the Big Chair, celebrates its 30 year anniversary this year.  Can't believe it has been so long ago . . . 30 years?

They are marking the anniversary with releasing a rebooted super deluxe version, as well as a six-disc box set featuring remixes, B-sides, and nine previously unreleased tracks.

Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal are currently working on a new album due later this year.  I look forward to hearing their new music after all these years!
